Multi-receiver transmission

The HDR 175 wireless headphones feature a closed-back, circumaural design and tip the scales at just 310g (including the batteries). They have a maximum sound pressure level of 114dB and the frequency response as stated by the manufacturer is 17Hz to 22kHz. The TR 175 is a multi-purpose transmitter that doubles as both a charging cradle and docking station. It also features multi-receiver transmission, allowing two pairs of wireless headphones to be used simultaneously, and both optical and 3.5mm stereo jack inputs are provided so that both analogue and digital audio sources can be connected. The user even has the option of switching between the two inputs.

For wireless afficionados

With the RS 175, Sennheiser has created a high-performance wireless headphone system with outstanding sound quality and an impressive range of features. Provided there is visual contact between the transmitter and the headphones, audio transmission is possible over a distance of up to 100m and with a maximum operating time of 18 hours. The RS 175 also allows situational sound customisation and, as previously mentioned, supports both analogue and digital audio sources and allows up to two pairs of wireless headphones to be connected at the same time, all of which makes it perfect for audiophiles with a soft spot for wireless technology.

About Sennheiser

In June 1945, Prof. Fritz Sennheiser founded the Wennebostel Laboratory, which initially produced measuring equipment. Commissioned by Siemens in 1945, the young company developed the MD-1 microphone, which was launched in 1946. After the development of further microphones, the company was renamed Sennheiser Electronic in 1958. Two years later, Sennheiser introduced the MD 421 dynamic microphone, which is still in production today and still held in high esteem by many sound engineers. Further groundbreaking developments, such as the HD 414 headphones and the MD 441 microphone classic, hugely enhanced the company’s international reputation, eventually making Sennheiser one of the leading manufacturers of microphone and headphone systems in the world.

From music to home entertainment

The sound customisation options offered by the RS 175 ensure an enjoyable listening experience in any situation, whether it be music, audiobooks, or films. The dynamic bass boost delivers a full, rich sound by increasing the audio bass response, while the two virtual surround sound modes create a livelier and more spatial stereo sound. In addition, the ergonomic design of the HDR 175 wireless headphones offers excellent wearing comfort. The RS 175 system is also very easy to operate, as the main controls are all located on the headphones themselves.

Excellent earphones that we use to listen to the television as our hearing isn't as good as it was. Wireless, so no cables. Excellent sound with controls to change volumne and tone on the right hand earpiece, along with the on/off control. The only downside for me is the fact that they are a bit comberson and slightly uncomfortable over the ear and can feel a bit heavy until you get them in the right place. 0nce you get used to them then you forget you have them on. These earphone seems to be the only model on the market that will accept two headphones on the one transmitter, which is the main reason we chose this model, and would high recommend them for home use.

N
A quality product at very decent price

Really impressive sound quality and the bass boost is a great aditional feature - not a necessary enhancement. Good quality audios really don't require any tweaking with these headphones - the sound is very clear and punchy - but those of a lesser quality with less bottom end really do benefit from this option. I find that the surround sound is a good enhancement for any audio, but that's really personal preference. My only quibbles: the connectivity over distance is not as good as the old RS90s and the power cable could be longer. However, it remains a highly recommended product.

E
Good product but can be better
EXHIBIT 05.12.2020
Easy to set up. Good to have individual headphone control so you can adjust your own volume without upsetting your partner. Sound field, bass is good enough but not necessary to say it fits for all genre of movies. Some online review may be a little overrated. It's wireless headphone after all, maybe my demand is too harsh. I still think it is a kit worth for enjoying movie at night if you have a sensitive hearing neighbor.
